No matter how I attracted I was with the
“bring-me-home” things at the colorful alleys of the Old City, this was the
only thing I got from Jerusalem. I
didn’t even notice that it has some damage – I just picked it up from a magnet
stand, handed 10 shekels to the vendor and caught up with the tour guide who
seems to be always on the rush.
By twist of fate, the one I got is a
replica of the Holy Sepulchre – which was just a few steps from the shop where
I bought this. For me, the Holy
Sepulchre is the one of the highlights of our visit to the Holy Land, being
able to see the site of five last stations of the cross – seeing Jesus’ tomb
where he resurrected, touching the hole at Golgatha where the Cross of Jesus
was planted and rubbing the Stone of Unction where the body of Jesus was
cleansed.
This was collected in October 2013 during the IAEA
conference’s tour at Jerusalem, Israel.
