2014 Year End Count Down

Again, my heartfelt gratitude to all those who remembered to bring home magnets for me! Salamat!!!!

For 2014, there were 28 magnets added to my road magnet collection.  5 were personally collected from trips abroad and locally while 21 were given as pasalubong by friends and officemates. I was also able collect a travel magnet from a friend's wedding last year. :)

The Peak

Known locally as The Peak, Victoria Peak is the highest mountain in Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong.  We've been there three times and it was only during our visit on December 12, 2014 that I experienced riding the peak tram going downhill for the first time.  Ganoon pala yon, you are seated in going-up position when you get down.  Sobrang tarik kasi!

Anyway, this is what I got as souvenir from the peak - another street sign. ^_^

Bendi

We call it 'kalesa' in the Philippines.  They call it 'Bendi' in Indonesia - the traditional horse-drawn transportation.

This was given by Lanie in October 2014 from Jakarta, Indonesia.

HK Disneyland

I had been to Hong Kong Disneyland for three times and who knows, I might be coming back again next year.  If that would be the case then I wanted to have a souvenir that would indicate the current year for my third visit (kumbaga, that would serve as the distinction for my future visit/s).  Unfortunately, there was no magnet with 2014 or 2015 available.  So what I got instead was this magnet which features famous buildings at the Victoria Harbour.

Tsim Sha Tsui

Tsim Sha Tsui is known as the tourist ghetto in Hong Kong and for my three visits there, this has been our haven.  That is why I really looked for this magnet, which is like a street sign of the place, during our third visit last December 9-12, 2014.

San Sebastian Church

I'm quite confused to whom should I say thank you for this magnet. - Peter gave me another church magnet as Christmas present last December 2014, the Caleruega Church which I already have one.  Buti na lang, Eric was willing to trade his present kasi yon yong wala pa ako, the San Sebastian Church.  So, this one was actually his present. :)

I'll just say thank you to both of them for their generosity! :)

Thai Flag

This was actually a Christmas present from Franz Cer in December 2014 which I guess he got from his trip to Bangkok, Thailand.

Hollywood Star

This was my pasalubong from Ms. Ludy's trip to United States of America last December 2014.

Halong Bay

I feel so blessed that even relatives of my friends are giving ambag to my road magnet collection. This one was given my Katz' mom, Tita Vangie, from her trip to Hanoi, Vietnam in August 2014.

Crossroad

This is the another one which Rodney gave me from his trip to Dubai, United Arab Emirates in October 2014.

Dubai

In October 2014, Rodney went to Dubai, United Arab Emirates for family trip.  He actually got two magnets for me. This is one of the them.

Strawberry

CEM Conference's last venue for its 36th anniversary was held in Baguio City, Benguet in October 2014Aileen's pasalubong and ambag to my road magnet collect was this one.

Mini Durian

Aileen's second destination for the CEM Anniversary Conference was in Davao City, Davao del Sur last September 2014.  Her pasalubong for me was this one which I guess is a real fruit - durian. Hangkyut!

Cebu

Aileen, one of my good officemate and friend, did Pilipinas tour for our company's 36th Anniversary.  Her first destination was in Cebu City, Cebu last September 2014, and this was her pasalubong for me.

Sili

Another pasalubong from Katz when she did an official travel to Naga City, Camarines Sur in July 2014.

Marmol

Collected from her vacation in Romblon province last July 2014, this was Katz' pasalubong for me. It's made of marmol, a known product from the province.

Hipon

Another ambag from our one and only Unitmate, Rodney! He got it from Puerto Galera, Occidental Mindoro in June 2014.

Antipolo Shrine

This was personally collected from the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in Antipolo City, Rizal last June 2014.

(It took me almost year to post this hehehe)

Tuna Capital

They say Mindoro is the new tuna capital of the Philippines.  So, when Peter gave me this magnet which he got from his trip to Puerto Galera, Occidental Mindoro in June 2014, I instantly associate it with tuna and named it - Tuna Capital.

Baler Surfboard

On May 2-31, 2014, CEM held its annual summer outing at one of the known surfing sites in the country - Baler, Aurora.  Although I was not able experience the surfing fun, what I got for my collection is this magnet which has a shape of surfboard.  Nararapat lang di ba? :D

Kasag

This was given by Jose (a.k.a. Papa Joe) from his vacation in Boracay, Malay, Philippines in May 2014.  Locals from the Visayas Region call this sea creature - Kasag.

Bora Funboard

Another ambag from Lanie - this was also given in May 2014 and it's from the famous summer getaway in the Philippines, Boracay!

Bangui

Actually, this is the second windmill magnet that Lanie gave me.  The first one was broken. Good thing that she got another one for me because I really wanted to have one of this.  It is so unique and very Ilocandia!

Lanie gave this to me in May 2014 from Bangui, Ilocos Norte.

Cagsawa Ruins

It was Mama's first time to visit Bicol Region last April 2014.  And I was glad that she didn't forget my magnet. ^_^

Chinese Noodles

This was brought home by Rodney as pasalubong from his trip to Hong Kong in March 2014.

Burj Khalifa

Known as the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa was another highlight of my boss' (Ms. Angel) trip to Dubai, United Arab Emirates in February 2014.  She also got this one for me. <happiness>

Burj Al Arab

Known as the world's most expensive, the Burj Al Arab was one of the highlights of my boss' (Ms. Angel)  trip to Dubai, United Arab Emirates last February 2014.  This is one of her pasalubong for me. =)

Wedding Postcard

My friend, Clarence, finally tied knots with her long time boyfriend in February 2014.  Since both of them are fond of traveling, the theme of their reception was travel! I was really delighted with their wedding cake which resembles three tiers of balikbayan boxes and their souvenirs - ref magnet which has a design of postcard and pictures taken during the reception!

Opera House

This was given by Lanie in January 2014.
